JSON to XML Converter
Turn JSON into well-formed, indented XML. Objects become nested elements, arrays become a wrapper element with <item> children, and special characters are escaped.
How to use the JSON to XML Converter tool
- Paste your JSON into the JSON input box.
- Click Convert to XML.
- Review the XML in the Output panel.
- Copy it or download it as an .xml file.
Frequently asked questions
How are arrays converted?
An array becomes an element named after its key, containing one <item> element per array entry.
What happens to keys that aren't valid XML names?
Characters that XML doesn't allow in element names, such as spaces, are replaced with underscores, and names that start with a digit get a leading underscore.
What is the root element?
The whole document is wrapped in a <root> element, and null values become empty elements.
