Compare two JSON documents side by side. Both are formatted the same way first, so differences in spacing don't matter, and the diff shows removed lines with - and added lines with +.
How to use the JSON Diff & Compare tool
- Paste the original JSON into the JSON input box.
- Paste the changed JSON into the Comparison JSON box.
- Click Compare.
- Read the summary and the line-by-line diff in the Output panel.
Frequently asked questions
Does whitespace or indentation affect the result?
No. Both documents are parsed and re-formatted with the same indentation before they are compared.
Does key order matter?
Yes. Keys are compared in the order they appear, so the same keys in a different order show up as changes.
What do - and + mean?
Lines starting with - are only in the first document; lines starting with + are only in the second.
