Where do the numbers appear?

Each number is placed at the bottom center of the page in a small, plain font.

If I skip page 1, does page 2 show number 1?

No. Each page shows its real position in the file, so page 2 is numbered 2.

Can I add a header or "Page X of Y"?

Yes. Open the Header & Footer tool in PDF Studio to add header text and Page X of Y numbering.
